At the End of the Day is an exploration of the mind, our emotions, and how we cope with them. This piece is a compilation of anonymous responses to various questions regarding both the participants’ recent as well as long-term emotions. Composing responses from ages 19-80, it encapsulates the waves of emotions we experience throughout our lives. The primary goal of this is to be beneath the surface dissection of people, showing the true feelings that we tend to not share. The attraction behind the anonymity is that participants feel more compelled to share true feelings, as their identity is not known or connected to their responses. I also chose to leave the responses anonymous as it allows the viewer to envision the participants as anyone, reminding us that every person we know experiences these emotions and at the end of the day, it is just us and our minds.
After months of hard work and many road bumps navigated, IÂ proudly designed, curated, and assembled this almost 600 page publication (each page individually hand-designed). This piece was completed as my senior thesis at the University of Connecticut.
